About the Author
Conrad Fischer, M.D., Dr. Fischer is the Residency Program Director in Internal Medicine at Brookdale Hospital in New York City and is Associate Professor of Physiology, Pharmacology, and Medicine at Touro College of Medicine in New York City.
He teaches USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3, Internal Medicine Board Review and Attending Recertification, and USMLE Step 1 Physiology.

Somebody forgot to proofread...

I have only looked at about 20 of these cards so far, but there are so many typos on them that I have put them all back in the box and do not intend to trust my studying to them. For instance, ONE SINGLE CARD (Psychiatry Card 4) spells the drug metoclopramide three different ways. Not only did I see several misspellings, but even drug facts were incorrect. I want the cards to help me learn things I don't know, so if I can't trust them to be correct on what I do know, I would be afraid of what errors I would not even realize were there. Save your money and find a more reliable set of flash cards. These cards are advertised as "Fully revised and updated"...I think maybe they should give it another go.

Maybe good for Step 2/3, but not ideal for Step 1

I just got these for step 1 review because they get an "A" rating in the back of First Aid, but I'm disappointed. They include a number of drugs that I've never heard of before (never covered in my med school pharm class, not mentioned in first aid, not tested by the U-World Q-bank) so I'm doubtful that they will be useful on Step 1. They leave out many other drugs included in First Aid. Also, the main focus of most of the cards is the indications for use, rather than mechanism or toxicity. That may make them useful for step 2, but less so for step 1, which wants you to know MOA and toxicity in detail but generally just wants you to know the disease that they treat (rather than what stage of the disease to use them in, and which drugs provide mortality benefit, etc). As other reviewers have mentioned, they have a lot of type-os, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Many drugs have different pertinent information spread between different cards (toxicity on one, MOA on another) and often the information is contradictory. For instance, two different cards mention Carbemazepine, but the 3 toxicities that they list for it are completely different. This makes studying very frustrating!
In short, I may keep these around for step 2 and 3 study, but I think there are probably more appropriate flashcard sets if you are looking to learn pharmacology for step 1.

Not comprehensive! BEWARE!

I got these cards because first aid 2011 graded these cards as A in their recommended book section. If you read the description they gave out then you would get the impression that these cards are "comprehensive" and all that you needed for the boards. WRONG. You absolutely need to supplement these flashcards with another source. I ended up using Lange's pharmacology cards (which was actually comprehensive and not too much for the boards btw).
The content of these flashcards are presented in a very good way. It's clear, concise and clinically oriented. However, there simply isn't enough cards to cover all the drugs. In fact many board relevant drugs of the same class aren't even listed. I would recommend these cards if you have extra time for pharm and have gone through your other cards.
